I finally got the new system up and running, dual boot to I Windows 7 and Window 8 on dual monitor. The video card has to be replaced from the stock one by Dell, still trying to see if I like it or not. May switch back to VGA to the monitor from DVI, not sure.

The game of eight ball

I really wish I could get behind and embrace Windows 8, however I cannot. Yes I will have a Windows 8 system at home for development, but at my 8-5 job, Windows 8 and VS 2012 is DOA. The problem is that we would have to have two version of out code, Windows 8 and all other version of Windows. The VS 2012, from all we have heard, will not compile to previous versions of Windows. That is a deal breaker. None of our clients are going to be using Windows 8, nor are we going to specify Windows 8 as a valid platform. It may be years before we approach this new paradigm. Sigh.
On top of that the final version of Visual Studio was released of Aug 15, and it refuses to download.
